Doggone Good Time
Excursions for furry friends and their humans!
When it comes to a #VisitHBURG Vacation, we think the whole family should be invited! Load up the car with your furry friends and all their humans and let us show you how to do Hattiesburg right at pet-friendly locations.
Day One
- Hotel: Hattiesburg hotels are comfortably open for you and your pets! Thanks to our incredible hotel partners, you’ll rest easy in many of our 30+ hotels. There are several pet-friendly options like the Towneplace Suites by Marriott, La Quinta Inn and Suites, and the Residence Inn by Marriott, and more.
- Daytime: After your car trip, everyone deserves to stretch their legs whether they have 2 or 4 of them. Stop by Central Bark dog park in Downtown Hattiesburg. There are two sides – one for larger breeds and one for the tiniest furballs. There’s even a watering hole designed just for your pups
- Dinner: Just around the corner from Central Bark, stop by Triangle Seafood and Market and grab curbside carryout to bring to Town Square Park. Here, you’ll enjoy public art, views of Gordon Creek, and wide-open greenspace the whole crew can enjoy!
- Night: It’s time for a watering hole of your own! Stop by Colludium Brewing Company, where indoor and outdoor dining and a wall of over 100 board games can be enjoyed alongside in-house brewed beer. An outdoor food truck-style kitchen means furry friends can sit anywhere they’d like on this adventure – indoors or out – and also a great late-night snack for you!
Day Two
- Morning: You got a great sneak peek yesterday, but it’s time to leash up and really explore Downtown Hattiesburg today. From monumental sculptures and more than 40 public art murals to soaring architecture and hidden alleys, you must #GetDowntown in Hattiesburg!
- Lunch: Isn’t Downtown delightful? Head over to Nellie’s Chicken & Daiquiris for a Downtown Delight daiquiri served alongside hand-battered chicken tenders. Outdoor picnic tables make the perfect resting spot for you and your pup.
- Afternoon: A visit to Hattiesburg’s other craft brewery will be just as exciting for you and your furry friend as last night’s adventure. Southern Prohibition beer can be found across the country but is brewed right here in Downtown Hattiesburg. Settle outside for the life-sized outdoor games like pool and Jenga.
- Dinner: The outdoor space at Keg and Barrel is as expansive as its beer and pub food menus. Televisions, yard games, and outdoor heaters ensure you and your canines can enjoy this local institution year-round.
Day Three
Morning: There are lots of nooks and crannies for you and your furry friends to enjoy at The Lucky Rabbit. This junk joint, open every Saturday and Sunday, is an eccentric exploration of vintage items, handmade goods, and repurposed furniture. Don’t miss out on their larger-than-life photo ops themed for each month and famous set recreations from your favorite flicks like The Office and Stranger Things.
Lunch: Another space with extensive outdoor dining for the entire fam and, often, live music, Glory Bound Gryo Co. is a must stop while in town. Go traditional with a lamb gryo and craft hummus, or do it Hattiesburg-style with the Comeback or Buffalo Chicken varieties.
Afternoon: Time for your four-legged friend to get some fresh air on the Longleaf Trace. A Rails-to-Trails Conversancy Project and Mississippi’s premier running, biking, hiking, and equestrian trail, the former railroad track is 10 feet wide and paved throughout, ensuring a comfortable journey for the whole crew.
Dinner: We’re dog tired just thinking about all the fun you’ve fit in this trip! Leave your dog at the hotel for some well-earned rest and relaxation and visit Half Shell Oyster House for fresh seafood and fantastic libations.
