General Manager Beth Burns has earned Marriott’s Diamond GM of the Year Award for 2017. The hotel also won Marriott’s Golden Circle Award. Previously, the TownePlace Suites Hattiesburg had earned Marriott’s “Opening Hotel of the Year” award, as well as the “Sales Ramp Up” award, selected by the Select Service & Extended Stay Hotels Group – The Americas.
Marriott names only four Diamond GM of the Year winners each year for its TownePlace Suites portfolio. Winners must demonstrate achievements in Operational and Hospital Leadership excellence, including in the areas of financial management, sales leadership, service leadership and community service.
To earn the Marriott Golden Circle Award, a hotel must be within the Top 10% of the brand in overall Guest Satisfaction Survey (GSS) scores.
“We are very grateful to receive these prestigious awards from Marriott, which has been an outstanding brand partner for our company as we chart a growth path emphasizing the select service category,’” said Phillip McNeill, CEO of McNeill Hotel Company.
"I am thrilled to receive this award on behalf of our great associates, who have helped TownePlace Suites Hattiesburg become a true community partner as they embrace our company’s ethic of “People Serving People,” said Beth Burns, General Manager of the hotel.
Mark Ricketts, President and COO of McNeill Hotel Company, the company that manages the property, added, “We are extremely proud of the TownePlace Suites Hattiesburg team on the much-deserved awards! Beth led her team through the recovery phase of a devastating tornado that tore through the area and affected both the community and her team. Beth’s enthusiasm and compassion never wavered for an instant. She exemplifies the kind of manager and leader that McNeill Hotel Company is trying to cultivate and place into positions of responsibility as we continue to grow our property portfolio.”
