Creativity abounds in Hattiesburg thanks to many talented artists and thespians!

Enjoy more than 600 works in the Sarah Gillespie Collection at William Carey University, or catch a performance by the music department at The University of Southern Mississippi. The historic Saenger Theater and The Lawn at Lake Terrace host widely known artists and comedians, while our local restaurants and bars support many talented musicians through nightly performances. Hattiesburg was named a Top 11 Art Destination in 2023 by Travel & Leisure magazine, and its public art scene has only grown since then, now with more than 100 pieces in the collection.
